Banded Calcite (cut by me)

Here we have some beautiful banded calcite, which is also sometimes referred to as pork stone. Pork stone can refer to this soft banded calcite or a much harder jasper material. It is found all over the world but one of the best places to find it is in Mexico.

I was so surprised by this stone. One of the joys of cutting my own cabs is watching them polish up and sometimes you find interesting things. That happened with this one, where that white part in the middle there suddenly started having a flash to it. I really was not expecting that! You can see the flash best in natural sunlight.

This piece I wrapped in the black enamel wire, and it will come with a 24" black wire chain by default, but since I have the black chain in bulk, you can use the cart notes to let me know how long you'd like it or if you'd like an 18" wax cord necklace.
