Dumortierite Teardrop (cut by me)

$65.00 USD

Oh boy do I love this stone! So this is dumortierite, one of my favorite materials. It was first described in 1881 for an occurrence in Chaponost, in the Rhône-Alps of France and named for the French paleontologist Eugène Dumortie. But it's got several locations it is found around the globe. I cut this stone myself and I only have a very small slab of this specific material, and it looks different than the other dumortierites I have seen. I also have another slab of this material that looks different. I have never seen it look quite like this so I have to assume it's because it was dug up in one of the various locations, perhaps Russia but I can't say for sure. Anyway, it looks so cool with the black splotches, it almost looks like splattered paint. It is wrapped in round silver color wire as opposed to the square I normally use.

All silver chains are stainless steel. Please indicate in the cart notes if you would like 18” or 24” stainless steel chain or an 18” black wax cord.

All silver wire is a silver plated enameled non-tarnish wire with copper core, unless otherwise noted as sterling.
