Malachite Marquis

Here we have some beautiful malachite. This malachite is currently my last maquis shape. I don't have any malachite rough rock, so I don't cut this material. This particular piece has a layer of azurite if you look really closely. That's the tiny light blue layer, and a very dark blue layer right next to it.

Malachite is primarily found in the Democratic republic of the Congo, but there are also deposits in several other areas of the globe. It is actually toxic, so if you were handling a raw piece you would need to wash your hands after. A polished piece like this is no problem, however. But this is the primary reason I don't cut this material.

If you're into metaphysics, Malachite is believed to be a powerful "stone of transformation" and deep energy cleanser, highly regarded for facilitating personal growth, emotional healing, and protection against negative energies.
